So are you able to upload or download at all? Are you connected to the RS232 port and if so were did the cable and connections come from. did you make them or are you using gender changers. these were we start.
Hi. Anyone out there using the MasterCam's bundled CIMCO editor to send G-code programs to a Mazak M32 controller?
I have the bits and baudrates right, but there is something wrong in the 'handshaking' settings ( hardware, software, Xon/Xoff and the like for both the COM port and the CIMCO sofware) . It sees that it is sending, but then errors out.
Amazingly CIMCO software does not have a handout sheet of settings for CIMCO to M32 control. The Mazak-provided data does not go into "handshaking" settings either.
If yours is working, PLEASE reply. Just by looking at a few things with you in your CIMCO I can fix my problem. rght now I'm shooting in the dark.
Thanks

By the way the com port is handled by your computer as the Mazak does not car as long as you are using the right comport you are plugged into the computer.
were are you getting the error at the machine control or the computer? what is the error?

Sorry I should have said; I am getting about 1/3 of a program up to the PC when sent from the Mazak. No error at the control when uploading, just 2/3 of the program is lost. So I think the BIG [parameters are right (baud, stop bits, data bits), but I think the "flow control" is not set right in the CIMCO.
When I try to send down a program from PC to M32, I get "551 tape reader error", BUT the M32 screen does change to the program number at the head of the sent program so it is seeing some of that incoming program.
So close.......
are your %'s in the right places. Also this may be stop bit problem. If your machine requires 2 and your using 1 it will prematurely stop the process.
