X Editor simple question

I'm running old X6. When I post out it goes to X editor, then after I hit save X editor saves it to an NC file that I can open in notepad. What if I want to open the file back up in X editor? I can't even find X editor anywhere to open by itself? Do you open it through the session of mastercam you've already got open?

Right mouse click on the file name, from the drop down menu select OPEN WITH, then select Mastercam X Editor.
Alternatively, from the drop down menu you can choose DEFAULT PROGRAM so that when you double click a file name of the same type it automatically opens in Mastercam X Editor.

X editor doesn't come up when I try open with. The drop down "other programs" doesn't show it, and I searched in "browse" with no results.

Try this,
Open MCX6, from the file menu drop down choose EDIT / OPEN EXTERNAL, navigate to your NC or CNC file and double click on the file name.
I did this and the file I chose opened in MC X editor.

Here is a way to get a shortcut on your desktop.
program files\mcamx6\common\editors\mastercam.
Look for MCXSTART.exe
Right click on it
Select send to
Select Desktop (create shortcut)

The default editor in Mastercam X6 is the Mastercam editor or called sometimes the X editor. the edtior has been repelaced with Code Export these days. I suggest setting to the Cimco editor as your default.

Now all editors are located on the C: drive as told here here. C:\Program Files\Mcamx6\Common\Editors.
