you have to select a tool while in the operations manager.
Hi All
I'm new to this forum, and I would appreciate some help from you. My question is about Mastercam X5. Every time I go to perform standard mill toolpaths, I'm able to select the geometry, But when I check the green check mark I get a message reading "Tool does not exist". It doesn't matter if I choose a drill, profile, pocket, face, high speed, or engraving. The surface rough, and finish seem to work, as do the high speed and multi axis. Router has the same issue. All of lathe works fine, I haven't tried wire.
Not long ago my laptop's battery went dead, and when I plugged it back in, I started having this issue. I uninstalled then reinstalled, still have the same issue.
Am I able to download a tool library or is there some other problem that I'm not aware of?
Thank you in advance
Duane

I select the geometry first, then a window with a tool list should come up with toolpath type and all the other data I need to tell the softwear. I'm not able to select a tool first, unless I'm doing something wrong....
I do not have X5 installed only X7 to 2018 at this time but should be the same as X7 shown in the picture for selecting tools. Have you had any training?

I just quickly drew this square and four points as a test.
then you need to creat a tool path like contour. have you had any training with this?

Yes, I have done a few programs on the mill using X7 at work, but I have X5 on my personal lap top. Nothing overly complicated.

...And yes I do work at NTMA.
