need help

Which type of compensation will allow me to enter tool radius, and will let me change tool radius in order to make the hole that im milling larger/smaller. Im using a bridgeport interact 520 mill, Heidenhain tnc 155 control and master cam 9?

when I use "off" it doesnt copensate for the tool radius I put in.??

i believe if you turn the cutter comp on either left or right (depeneds on ccw or cw cut) then you can adjust your tool size up or down to size the hole(i.e .500 endmil reall size tell the program it is .510 hole will be smaller) . that is how i do it not sure if it is 100% the way you should but it works

Use cutter comp "control". This is the setting in mastercam where you have to manually input the radius of the tool in the offsets page.

If your control can work with cutter comp "wear" I would strongly advise using it cause this eliminates the chance of error by having to manually input the raidus in the control. You only have to adjust the offest value by the radial amount you want the tool to offset.

ie:
3/4" bore measures .002 too small, you input a -.001 in your offest registar
or
3/4" bore measures .002 too big, you input a +.001 in your offset registar.

I agree with BMackinnon, I use wear on all my toolpath that can use cutter comp. It works out great that way.

Ok I have the compensation on control and im using a lead in lead out (see links) with this setup it gives me an error that says "PATH OFFSET WRONGLY STARTED" does this have to do with my lead in lead out?

Try changing your lead in lead out to 107% for both to give it some more room then just the rad of the tool.
One reason may be that you give only the rad of the tool for lead in/lead out and also are telling it to leave .02 XY in your tool parameters.

As for your posted code, I havent work with that style before. Maybe someone else on here works with the same control as yours and would know more about it.

I will try that and update the post. the .02 is because that tool is a roughing pass.

I changed the lead in lead out to 175% of the tools radius which it looks like that gave it plenty of room but I still get the error "path offset wrongly started". It gives me the error on block 16

Here is how you want includeing use wear to comp for the tool so you do not have to put the full radi of the tool in the control.
Also you should move up to 9.1 of mc for the extra tools. If you are running 9.0 there are some issues that will bite you.
