Opening ProE (prt) File

When I open a ProE part file (prt) in Mastercam (X V10.2 MR2) I don’t see anything; it is an option under “open”.

What’s the secret?

Allen,

I beleive you need a ProE converter to convert the file first. If you can upload your file I can have someone convert it for you, as I did not pay for the coverter since I dont work with these file types alot.

The Pro-e converter is an added cost did your shop buy this add-on.
other wise you will not see any thing.

Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new here and had a question about how to go about converting prt files to solidworks. I'm a Graphic Designer/ Web Designer working for an engineering company so while I am a bit familiar with these file types, I don't have a lot of experience working with any of them. With that said I have a company I need to convert a decent size batch of files for.

Is there any program out there I can use/ buy that will do this? Sorry if this sounds like a newbie question, but in this arena I really am a newbie.

Now are these Pro-e or UG files. there is know standalone software to conver these to SLDPRT. it matter what you have for SW as my Office professianl will open UG >prt files.

How many files to convert as I some time contract for this type of stuff for some campanys.
