I just got a new A-axis for my Haas, it's positioned along the X-axis just like everyone else. The part is 1" dia. with .125 text but I am having trouble getting the MC9 to make a post along the A/X motion (I just don't know how!!)
Thanks,
Janos

Here is one easy way
1. figure out howthe cir. of your stock and make a rectangle that size. So a 1 dia would be 3.141" width and the how ever long the stock is would be your height.
2. Put your lettering in the rectangle.
3. create a countour tool path, selecting all your lettering. and chose a start point.
4. Then on the first page of the para. page check the rotary axis box. and select the rotary axis button.
5. choose "Axis Substitution" rotate around X axis. the fill in the dia of your stock, in this case 1".
6. make sure you turn off cutter comp and do not use and leadin/leadout.
This is how have done it. I don't know how your post is set up but if it will not post in 4 axis you can use the generic post and hand edit it.
That wasn't as bad as I thought. I was in the neighborhood but just the wrong house.

What version are you running if it is MC-X or higher there is a Machine Def for Haas with 4th.
