Angry Config Mastercam X

Hello All

we are running Master X and I am trying to config it so that when it starts up, my live tooling, with a C axis lathe is the default machine. I went thru the process but when I start up X I get a warning that the machine and it's axis will not support the job I am doing, even before starting the job. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong or not doing. Thanks in advance

Gerry

CadCam man

when i select the .lmd c-axis slant bed, this comes up:
Machine group Lathe 1
Machine Definition C:\MCAMX\CNC_MACHINES\LATHE C-AXIS SLANT BED.LMD.

selected machine does not have a valid axis combination.

yet when i use the setting in the jpeg you sent to me, it works.
given that it is a 2 axis with a C or 2 1/2 axis as they are sometimes referred to, will this need to be set to lathe multi axis mill turn advance 2-4.lmd? what does the extension .lmd refer to?

The lathe is a GLS 150M -TC Yama Seiki with a Fanuc 0i control.

thank you for your help

Gerry

Gerry the LMD stands for ( Lathe , Machine , Defanetion).
Were did your post come from?
The LMD I picked support C & Y axis using a basics on the Fanuc control.

(selected machine does not have a valid axis combination.) this say the Axis def is in the wrong order did you build the Machine Def ?

it defaulted to the post that supports the lathe multi axis mill turn advance 2-4.lmd. i ran this new configuration and the lathe 2-4 came up and the post also, so when i i reposted an existing job, very different values came up for the c axis as it was "doing" the polar interpolation. lots of X and C movements, where the MPFAN.pst gave me fewer lines of g code but the desired square that i was looking for. i will try the C & Y axis using a basics on the Fanuc control and see what i get. thanks again for your efforts. it is go time here for me. snow on the ground and too many silly people behind the wheel. ttyl.

Jay,

Can you define those versions for me as to what they mean?

Toby.....

X = version 10
MR1 = maintenance release "1"
MR2 = maintenance release "2"
X2 = Newest version of Mastercam

With each version of MC, there may be a couple of maintenance releases for new stuff or upgrades (Not to be confused with patches which are generally for bugs). The "MR" stuff is kind of a stepping stone to the next full version release.
