Default Converting Catia Solid to MC X8 HLE

I have a Catia Solid that I am trying to import into X8 for an HSM class project.
I have saved the Catia file to multiple files extentions (step, igs, dfx, dwg, 3dm) trying to get something I can use in X8. When I open the various files in X8, I get the solid most times but I cannot get any line that I can manipulate or select for chains.
    I am at a loss.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance, Rick

Rick, Your choice of color is sh$t, leave it as default

When importing, there is an "Options" button (on the file select page ),
    - allows you to bring in a solid ( or surfaces ).....and ALSO to create wireframe geometry
    or
    - if the item are already imported....try <<create>>, <<curves>>, << All surfaces (& select solid entity mask icon - blue icon on user toolbar [edge / face / solid) >>, select solid and then accept

You'll notice the 1st option is much easier

    Superman,
Your right, the color sucks but I was not aware that I had changed anything.

The Create curves option works at this time. I will report any problems
    Thanks, Rick

Why not cut from the solid model that came in. you can use the edges of the model to cut from. now is it a solid for sure and not surfaces that look like a soild model?
