    subsequent peck parameters ?

    Hello Everybody,

i need some help to understand how to use this parameter "subsequent peck" in Peck drilling in mastercam.. i tried to look for help in many books.
i try to explain where i might need this parameter.
    i have...
    2" Dia pipe ... need to drill a hole .500" thru' ... wall thickness 0.050 "
the problem is when drill made a hole in first wall of pipe ..there after it still going on same feed although there is no material to cut... what i want it go faster to next -1.50 " and then start peck .. i know how to do it manually with G0 and G01...
but i am wondering there must be some way to do it in mastercam...

    i appriciate you guys help...

    thanks
    Abcdef

There are at least a couple ways to do this with Mastercam. The path you choose depends upon whether your control supports this behavior in canned cycles or not.

Firstly, let me say that for the example you have the easiest thing may be to break it into 2 operations. The first op would drill thru the first wall only. The second operation would use a retract height of -1.5 and a depth of -2.2

Just make sure you are using G98 and a suitable clearance height.

Anyway, the real way to do subsequent pecks can be found here...
