HEY! LOOKEY THERE FIRST POST!
I am going to have some parts machined and the machinist is using mastercam. is there a spacific file I can give hime to use, or am i stuck with dxf. I would like something that comes straight from the 3d model to ensure accuracy. any ideas/suggestions?

.igs will produce surfaces in Mastercam. I much prefer a solid model. I would recommend .xt (parasolid) or .sat as I have had very good luck with both of those in Mastercam. I have also found that compressing (especially parasolids) files (.zip) before e-mailing helps reduce the chance for errors.
If there are problems, try using a different version of the parasolid converter.
I have seen better transfer if you use Step. Have you checked to see if the customer does not have the Catia Translator for MC?
