Hi all Just working on a part and I just cannot put a chamfer on the 8mm holes that are going through, front and back. Its probably something real simple but just can't seem to find the right tool. Its late and is its really starting to get to me. Any help would be appreciated. |

| Do you need the part file to show the chamfer for any reason ? All you need to toolpath the chamfer is the center of the 8mm hole. But if you do Im not really sure on chamfers with surfaces, I deal mainly with solids.

The right tool for this type of modeling is definitely the solids package. You'll be amazed how much easier solids are. |

| Solids is a lot easier. Select the 2D contour then the outside of the part. Make the mods you want and set the parameters for chamfer size. Done.

| This is one reason why I mainly deal with solids. It has more capibilites then surfaces. Mind you surfaces have thier pro's as well, only if you are machining a full surface and dont need to create a soild model.

| Thanks guys This part did not need to be modelled I just thought I'd have a go and draw it up. It's for a tennis ball launcher that I designed. At work I normally just put toolpaths to already designed parts so I don't get to use mastercam to its full potential. Will scrap that drawing and do it in solid. |
