I am using MCX6 to post code for HAAS mills.
When I try to use cutter comp at the machine control, often times I get an alarm.
The factory told me it is because some program moves are equal to or less than .0002"
I have tried changing some of the tolerances in the MCX6 System Configuration without any luck.
As a result, I program for actual tool size (I am grinding with diamond tools) and must generate new code for every change in tool diameter.
Can anyone help me out?
What "Comp Type" are you using ? (In Computer, In Control, or Wear)
What Lead in/out settings you use for that comp type ?
( line distance, arc sweep, & arc size )
- I do know that the arc sweep angle has created some problems for me on occasion
-What setting do you use for cutter Roll at the corners ?
What size of "cutter" are you talking about, & what amount of "adjustment" do you need to achieve ?
I have tried programming to the tool centerline (.500" end mill) and comp at control -.035" (.465" end mill).
I have tried programming to edge of tool and enter actual diameter at control (.465" end mill).
Errors happen way past point where tool enters the cut.
I am contouring complex 3D surfaces with many small point to point moves.
It is some of those small point to point moves that cause the alarm.
