Remap the comm port for the modem or what ever is using comm 1 thru 4 to 5 or higher. Then map the new port to one of those.

You could also try something besides MC's communications. I made a small comms package that supports up to like 12 comm ports.

The latest can be found towards the end of this thread... http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...ighlight=scomm

you can also use the Cimco Editor in V9 as your default editor and also as your Communications to nd it supports more ports to.
Or you can use the one reked has been so nice to offer.

Hi Rekd,i'd Rather Not Mess Around With The Motherboard.
But,i Did View Your Program And I Am Very Impressed.
I Would Greatly Appreciate The Chance To Try Your Program.
Thanks,
Dell

Grab a copy and try it. It's free. If you have any problems getting going, let me know and I'll try to get you all set up.

Check your machine's parameters for CR/LF on SEND or something similar. From my HAAS' they save vertically (with carriage-returns/linefeeds).

If you can't find it, I could probably code an option to add them via SComm either during the recieve or process it after it finishes by replacing the EOB's with CR/LF's.

rekd,is it possible to have the same parameters on the send "options" page
mirrored on the receive "options" page(i don't know computer programming, but in mcam, when i send or receive, there both on the same page using the same parameters(i think).)

thanks,
dell

I was wondering when that would come up...

When I was developing SComm, it's intended use was strictly for sending data to the machines quickly, and was designed around that, for my own personal use.

Later, I found a need to recieve files on occasion, so I started making something in SComm. I quickly shelved it as I was out of time and I plugged in the vbterm.frm from MSDN's sample library and modified it to fit in SComm.

I've considered going forward with the recieve module I started, but haven't commited to it.
