There is no cam like Mastercam. I have used and evaluated many
and #4#, it is unbeatable, Its powerful I cut alot of Complex Mold Cores and cavities never could not do it, works well for high speed machining and the cost is justifiable.

I use MasterCAM Router version 9.1. I was one of those souls who fought through BobCAD - with much help from HU.

The key to any software is the support. My MasterCAM reseller, Charles Davis of San Diego CADCAM (shameless plug) has been nothing short of awesome. This gentleman knows his stuff and has set up our posts for our various machines. Our productivity has improved many times over using MasterCAM.

I purchased our first seat back in August 2002, and another early this year. Any time I have a question, he responds either by email or phone within a couple days. Usually the SAME day.

Although some may criticize it's lack of being totally a Windows product, it works. And it works GREAT.

I hope I can learn even more from all of you MasterCAM users, even if I only use Router.

Best regards,

Mark Linder

Buy me a Beer?

I must say that cust support is VERY important, If I have to get support for Cabinet Vision I wait on the phone holding for 20 + mins. It's a joke!

I am new as of 3 months using any cam software and we have Mc9.0 and just recieved Mc v9.1 a week ago. I think its pretty user friendly but I am only doing 2d stuff right now. We do have 2- 3d seats of which I hope to get into in the up coming months.
