| Hello I've finally got round to starting to use X. I must say it seems great so far - allthough it can be hard to get out V9 mode! Now to my query. I never used MC lathe 'properly' before - except for just trying out a few examples, allthough I've spent many hours in mill. One of our lathes is soon to be fitted with a new controller. It's a great machine - hence the refit, but the controller was awful limiting us to 99 lines of code and the use of loops combined with non-standard g-codes! Being an older machine, it has a front carriage, which carries the toolchanger (currently my pet electronics project!) - i.e. just the same as a conventional manual lathe. I've setup a machine definition in MC X, and set the tool up for bottom turret. I've programmed a very simple part and when I backplot it, it works just fine - tool on the correct side etc. However, when I perform a verify, the tool is in the correct orientation, but it immediately jumps to 'back' side of the job and machines the rear profile. Obviously as it is machining the rear profile with a tool mounted in the front it simply obliterates the simulation. Is this a problem with X ? Or is there a verify setting I need to change. Both the toolpath operation and the backplot are working perfectly, allthough I've yet to post the code to check the numbers. Any help would be greatfully appreciated Cheers Dave |

| I am having the same problem as well, I have everything working fine up until the verify, and the tool enters the rear profile causing a collision. I too would appreciate any help, and by the way i am a very new mastercam user thanks again Pat |
