Hello, can someone please help me to produce a simple 3D toolpath. I have attached the file of the part I have created and I am having trouble producing the surface rough and finish toolpath for the slope. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks… Norman |

| First off, do you have a model that contains surfaces or solids? If your not very familiar with surface toolpaths, I'd recommend surface>finish>parallel for the inclinded surface. As for the wall, that may take some monkeying around with. Surface>finish>contour will scrape the wall, while possilby pencil trace will finish the crotch. With surface paths, there are always a number of differnt ways to skin the same cat. Some work better than others, sometimes you've just gotta experiement. |

| Thanks for everyone’s help thus far. I have a small bench top CNC mill (TAIG), the material will aluminum and I will be using a 1/8” flat end mill. I can buy a round end mill if required. The radius of the inside corners can be that of the end mill. |

| Er, I made a solid and I have it in mastercam X. Would you like me to simply post it out for you or would you like my solid/mastercam file? if you want me to post it out, what do you want for a stepdown on roughing, and a stepover for finish along the cut?

| Thanks Tarkus. I would prefer it to be in a MC9 file so I can load into Mastercam V9 and generate my own post file. With respect to stepdown and stepover parameters, can you please make a decision for me based on my use of a small TAIG (benchtop) mill and 1/8" end mill. Norman |

| You know though, if the part looks like the solid you sent, it would have been faster to simply blank out the 2x4x.5 blank and cut the angle from the side...

| Here is a sample of your file with tool paths and no surfaces or solids. using 3d contour and A Wirefram toolpath called Ruled. This all can be done with a Level 1 of mastercam
