so I have the question maybe someone can tell me what is the best way to machine this part i have 5 pockets with 6 holes in each pocket all are the same toolpath.
1 question would you machine each pocket complete, or just do all the pockets at the same time just changing tools one at a time.
hope that makes sence.
2nd question so I machine 1 complete with all the holes in know I did that operation where you translate the toolpath but it did the first pocket complete then on the rest of the pockets it starting doing one tool at a time going from 1 pocket to the other.
how can I make it where I can do one pocket with all the holes complete.
then translate the toolpath BUT let one tool do all the operations on each pocket the go to the next tool and so on
is it possible

I did the same thing you did on your program but what i would like to do is if I have 3 tools to use
I would like tool 1 to do all the operation at one time (drill) the tool 2 to do all the pockets tool 3 to do the chanfers and it s done.
what my program is doing is it completes the first pocket completely. then it goes and do all the other pockets
Ok. Look at TRANSLATE2.jpg. See where it says "Group NCI output by"? Then "Operation Order" and "Operation Type"? Change the selected radio button to "Operation Type". Then repost it and see what happens.

op5- translate op4 ( the translation of 6 holes, 5 places)
op6-T2 ( ghost )
op7-T2 ( ghost )
op8- translate (op6 & 7 to do 6 holes (ghost)
op9- translate op8 ( the translation of 6 holes, 5 places)
op10-T3 ( ghost )
op11-T3 ( ghost )
op12-T3 ( ghost )
op13- translate (op10, 11 & 12 to do 6 holes (ghost)
op14- translate op13 ( the translation of 6 holes, 5 places)
post only ops5, op9 & op14
thank you got it to work
It stops that operation from being posted to an NC file, it still displays a toolpath
Icon to use is in Op manager ( 2nd line, 3rd in from Left ), looks like a spook with a bed sheet with a couple of holes ( a ghost muncher )
You select the operation, then hit the icon ( toggles ON/OFF )
so if I have a ghost on that toollpath operation it will not display the g-code
when i post it right.
