    Cursive fonts in Mastercam

    I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get cursive TrueType Fonts to display as cursive. I can get the font to be in cursive in an e-mail or text document, but when it displays in Mastercam (X4), it is spread out, missing the little leader to connect the letters. I've tried several different fonts found here: Free cursive fonts - FontSpace All with the same results.

    Trying to avoid telling my boss we need to buy another Cam package to engrave cursive fonts....

    I would scan the engraving in before I would buy another cam system for that. I need to see what you are getting. cand you give me example of the font ot tell me what you use in your email so I can pull it in?

    You can "Create Letters" using the fonts loaded on your system by selecting the "TRUE TYPE..." button

    it should come in as an outline so you can then pocket ( or you can contour on top of the chain to "engrave" the outline - use no lead in/out & comp OFF )

    or use the Drafting text ( what you use for dimensioning ), it comes in as drafting entities. Unchanged it is NOT selectable to be able to machine, BUT you can convert is to lines & arcs to make it selectable
    ie... place the drafting text, adjust your options ( spacing etc ) then "explode" the entity for machining
    go....EDIT --> Trim/Break --> Break Drafting into Lines

    Cadcam,

    That is exactly what I want. Every attempt I have done has resulted in a small space between characters. I've fiddled with the spacing, but that does not seem to have accomplished much...

    The font I am using is called "Allura", available here: Free cursive fonts - FontSpace

    I know how to use true type fonts in Mastercam, but I'm trying to make something "artsy" for a customer. When I talk about buying another Cam system, I meant something along the lines of Vector 2D or similar. Not a huge cost, but still.....
