Mastercam putting in Z moves where they...

    Hi all,
I'm having a serious problem that I can't get figured out.
Mastercam putting in Z moves where they shouldn't be.
When I get done with a contour profiling around a part or a pocket etc...
Mastercam; instead of moving up in Z then moving in x and y will move all 3 axis together.
I don't understand why this randomly happens.
If I change the sequencing of cuts, it won't do it.
    This is crazy.
There's got to be a setting I'm missing somewhere.
    Please help if you can.

    kns

I would need a lot more information before attempting to evaluate this problem. I would need to know things like machine configuration, actual operations, contours, chaining, parameters. My first bet is you have settings "incorrect" in your machine configuration.

    Definitely need more info.

Is this something that just started? (did it work before and is now doing this?)

What version of Mcam are you using and have you gotten properly set up from your reseller with the correct post/def's for your machines...?

What did they(reseller) say to do?

You may need to send them a zip2go file so they can help you if this is a new install.

Is there a "Safe Z' setting anywhere in Mcam9?

    I'm using Mcam9.
Been using it for years with no problems.
Is there a "Safe Z' setting anywhere in Mcam9?

Well this all just started 4-6 months ago and it happens every so often.
I'm wondering if I should just reload Mcam9 on the computer again and see if that fixes it.

The settings have been fine for a long time. I changed nothing. I wonder if when I updated my computer something changed at that point?

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to try a re-load.....since everything was ok before the update...but that is scary and I think now there may be something else (outside mcam) that is affecting it but I can't imagine how.

Post one of the programs that has this issue so someone here can look into it.

you are still not giving us what you are doing what the setting screen shots something that can help up help you. you can reload does not mean that will fix what is going on as we are not sure it is not some thing you are doing or the system. there were no windows updates that reconfigured MC 9 that I can remember beside SP3 for XP were you needed to update the Hasp drivers.

We seem to be having a communication problem.

Here's what I'll do, when the problem happens again I'll post the code and a screen shot of what's happening. Then I'll change the sequencing of the cuts by 1 move and (it will fix the problem) and repost the code.
Is there a way to post config settings?

    Thanks for the help.

mc9 sometimes does this because of rapid retracts or feed plane in the preceding or next operation. that is why when you re-sequence the operations it works fine
If you can ENVISION it I can make it

Set all feed planes and retracts correctly. Pay attention to what you are doing.
