Sometimes the customer will give you the high and low on the print. A call generally will resolve the mystery. My old stand by is the machinist hand book.
It gives you the high and lows for max and min sizes for all threads.
I have a job coming up with a 14.750-32 thread and I need pitch tolerances for this, or even better, a formula to figure this for other jobs. Also, any smart suggestions on how to measure pitch. I know I can measure over wires(what size?). There is a 13.6885 dia counterbore also, what about using a pin mic over the wire? Any help is appreciated.
