    Facing question, see file

I have a simple imported 3d solid that i have created curves on. IT is just a simple flat surface that stops when it reaches a step up to another surface. Problem is the facing toolpath keeps extending into the next solid surface. Ideas? File is a rar.

this should be cut as a 2d contour not a facing as you are not facing and over laping the part.
(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

Technically correct, every op has its own place.

Still if you can tweak a few things some "out-of-place" ops can get you the same results faster.

I agree as I have done things with MC that the system would give errors in the past but pushed it thru anyway to get what I wanted out of the code.

in the older days we did not have a third of the options we have now. Late 80,s early 90,s

So keep pushing and trying thinks.
