| modMain:Main What does the above message mean with MasterCAM X? It shows up when I try to post a file. I also get "Active X component can't create object". I just started using MasterCAM today. W Brian Marin |

| As a support Tech for Mastercam still have not seen that one. Are you updateing your post from an earler version like V9 or trying to use the existing Machine Defs with the istall being all Fanuc?

Thanks for your reply. I just got MasterCAM X and I am using "MasterCAM X - Mill Training Tutorials" published by In House Solutions to learn with. I've got the same message trying to post process the MCX file from the first two examples I have worked from the above tutorial manual. Error message reads: "yellow triangle with "!" mark" modMain:Main Active X component can't create object. I can't find this message in above tutorial or in the reference manual I printed out from MasterCAM Help. I suspect it's about setting up post processors. Thanks: W Brian Marin |

| What you are seeing is a windows error message. A main in C or C++ (or most "new languages" is the main branch of code that executes - it looks like mastercam was trying to execute an OS routine (or method) incorrectly, possibly due to Microsoft not properly overloading one of their objects. In short the "canned routine" in windows either was not documented correctly by Microsoft, or the call to it was not properly "protected" by the Mastercam SW engineer. You may try getting on windows update and download and install any and all active x controls/patches that are not up to date on your machine. If it's an active x or OS bug that will possibly fix it. The machine I'd picked was DEFAULT-Generic Mill. The tutorial manual says I should have picked the Hass VF-6/40. I hope this is it. W Brian Marin |

| @NARF - MasterCAM X2 was released July 2005. I will not speculate or accuse how you came by your copy of MasterCAM X or when. But, I will question the following things: Is your OS up to date? Do you have latest drivers for your hardware? Does your system even meet the minimum recommended system requirements for MasterCAM X? I would think after you address these issues, your problem will go away. If not, then please feel free to ask for help again, either here, or in a new thread.

| Beekeeper you are correct unless you bring to a school were posting of a EMCX file is permitted. The home learning edition does let you save your file but not post past a few lines. PS by the way Jan of 2006 was the release of Mastercam X Mr1 X2 was not released till March 2007
