    Question H and D values

I'm just now coming from MC V8, where it inputs the D and H as the tool # automatically. Ive looked over the system config., and cant find a setting where X4 will put those values in without myself having to manually input that information.
Maybe Ive been spoiled by V8 doing that for me for so many years. But Im having a hard time remembering to put in that info before I post. Then I (or operator) read my post and sure enough, no D or H values. I really hate posting twice.
Hard to teach this old dog new tricks.

Ok you have you part drawn and a machine def picked.
Go to setting and at the bottom you will see Control Definition open this option.
The Control def option will open go to the one marked "TOOL"
Make sure that Tool offset registers are set as the picture shown here.

Also, if you are wanting tool numbers to be assigned sequentially, look under Machine Group Properties > Tool Settings > Tool Path Configuration > Assign tool numbers sequentially.

I changed my tool offset registers to : Add to tool. and put zero's in the length and dia boxes. Still nothing.
I cant believe something so easy, is such a pain.

Oooookaaaay. What are you really wanting MasterCam to do? Do you want MasterCam to input the tool library information into the operation parameters fields? Do you want MasterCam to output the tool length and tool radius values to the posted G-code? We do not know what other settings you messed with while we were not looking. Sometimes turning a switch off in room A disables a switch in room B. Then no matter how many times you turn the switch in room B off and on, you will see no results to the light in room B.

are you setting your compensation to computer, control or wear? Anyways under parameters>>tool if you put in your tool# in for length offset and diameter (only for tools that need this, or else its grayed out) It will use the corresponding D and H values that are already in the control for that tool number? If this is what your trying to do. Much easier if your control will do it, unless your trying to put in specific numbers then i have no idea.
