    pline help

This spline verifies correctly (right hand) on the screen, but the actual part coming off the machine is opposite (left hand)

Is there a 'switch' or something I need to turn on/off? Is there a problem with the post? Running a VF-2 and a HRT160.

Could be your rotary table is moving A positive and A negative in a different direction than your post is posting. Is the cut direction correct? (climb cut is actually a climb cut on the machine?)

If this is the case, then a simple post edit changing the A axis direction will fix it.

Now that I re-read what I wrote, I guess I am assuming you've never posted a program for this machine setup...If you have posted before and it rotates the correct direction, then perhaps I am missing something...but I can't open your file since it is X6 and I haven't installed 6 yet.

Oh, and btw - welcome to the zone

Wow thanks for the quick response. Everything looks ok, it's just opposite. So it's possible all my A moves are negative vs. positive or vise versa? How easy it to reverse this? Post attached.

Within the post you can basically choose a -0-(zero) or -1-(one) - if memory serves here - to either have your rotary rotate clockwise for positive or counterclockwise for positive...it is one of the "switches" at the beginning of the post.

We had haas HA5C rotary's that rotated one way and Haas HRT210's that were the other. I just had 2 posts so whichever one I was using I would post for that one...I found out later that you can change all of that in the control too (on the haas)

Just to double check - make sure that your cut direction is going to still work. If A is rotating and you are milling it will be the opposite cut if you rotate the opposite direction (I know, captain obvious there). Just wanted you to verify that mcam is programmed to cut the way you want...

Go out to the rotary table and rotate it positive. Then check your post for how it is set up regarding clockwise/counterclockwise.

I stand corrected...they are Not switches!lol But they do switch the output by whether you have a -0- or -1-

I'm wondering if it would be better to change the parameter/setting in the control instead. I'll play around with it. Thanks for the help

I imagine it is personal preference. I would rather have the control on the machine compensate automatically when I plug in that rotary...vs having the post do it.

Like I said, I used to just handle it at the post level, but with different tables rotating opposite directions, it makes you actually think about it...and I have enough to think about. Set it how you like it in the control, know your post is correct, and make parts!

I changed the "0"' to "1" in the post and it outputs the same???

I also can't find the setting on the Haas to switch the rotation direction.

This is hurting my self esteem, =(

I did however reverse my tool paths, got it to work and finished the parts, so the boss is happy but I'd like to figure this out.

Why didn't you change the Machine Definition Manager settings for your positive direction?

There are many ways to skin this cat. The reason that I suggested the parameter change in the Haas control is simply because different Haas rotary tables rotate differently...therefore, you can have mastercam set up one way and just post your programs and all of your rotary tables will be correct.

Here are the haas parameters to look into. (from mike at PM)

Understood. And agreed...to a degree. But...this is why you can save your modified Machine Definitions and post processors and resulting combinations with unique names. For example, I have one Machine Definition and post processor set up for a Fadal 3 axis mill and another set up for a Fadal 3 axis mill with 4th axis rotary table added.
