newbie question about boring tool in MC mill

Can somebody quickly explain which toolpath i choose in MCX 5 to use a boring bar? seems like the drilling cycle would make sense but wouldnt it just pull the bar straight back up and scratch the bore when it was done? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is a drill cycle that is used.
Bore #1 is for REAMING (an in & out operation)
Bore #2 can be used for boring

it is the "Fine bore ( shift )" ( 7th one down ). you have to set the boring tool in the correct orientation in the machine, so prove out the operation without the tool to know which way is the shift direction ( shift amount is usually only enough to make the tip miss the bore, say 0.020")

the operation is dependant on the machine and control-
    usually done by a G-code
    1-goto bore center (rapid)
    2-goto R-plane (rapid)
    1-bores the hole (feed)
    2-orientates (M19)
    3-shifts (rapid)
    4-retracts (rapid)
5-some machines return to bore center (rapid)
