Could you just run a VM under linux? That's what I would do.
I'm new to Mastercam and, being a Linux guy, I'm trying to get Mastercam working under the Windows emulator, Wine.
So far, no luck. I've hit winehq.org but the last version that's on their database is 9 and the install was in 2008 so it doesn't really help.

I probably could.
Virtualbox has been suggested and it's in the Ubuntu repository but that would necessitate a copy of Windows in which case I might just as well dual-boot. That's quite possibly the direction I'll head but I'd like to see how much there is to getting Mastercam running under Wine.
The last entry in the WineHQ database wasn't much help but all that was necessary was Mono. Mono is now a default under Ubuntu so I'm thinking it might not be much more then a version problem or some parameter that needs to be adjusted.
Thanks for replying.
I was thinking that because Mastercam is such a huge program it'd have a bunch of dependencies. Unless you can track down everything it needs to run, you probably won't have much luck. I don't have much experience with wine tho, so I may be wrong about that.
But good luck nonetheless.
The install seemed to go OK. It's when I fire up Mastercam that it inevitably crashes. It seems to be coming up OK and then hits a wall.
I've looked at the crash report files but I'm not familiar with the information in them so they haven't been helpful. I've posted for help over at the Wine forums but without much action so far.
Thanks.
Make sure you have the latest video drivers for the card in your computer. When it crashes on startup it's usually something to do with video
