    Post processor for TNC 370

Im looking for a post processor for TNC 370 for Mastercam X5, anyone got one to post?

Been using MC9 up till now, with a generic Heidenhain post that has been working "ok" (it won't get the drilling cycles correct, won't M13 (spindle CW and flood on) after M06, and so forth). Now I'm about to run a 300k+ block program and really feel that I need the correct post.

    Thank you!

Hi, i am not answering your post unfortunately. I am just setting up and I have a TNC 370 controller and I will be using Mastercam as I beleive it works in conjunction with Solidworks. Can you confirm this for me? Secondly I have a friend that says he can write the toll post for me but I need a sample of one for him to work from. Is this something that you may have?? Thanks Steve (Australia)

    Hey Steve!

With Mastercam, there is two routs to go. Either You get Mastercam stand-alone. Then you can import the parts (STEP, DWG, DXF, so on and so forth) you make in Solidworks to do your toolpaths. Or you get Mastercam for Solidworks, which acts as a plug-in to Solidworks. This is what I prefer, since you can do everything you need to do in one program alone. All the way from rough sketching to your tool paths.

I have a PP for Mastercam V9 for TNC 426/430. The changes needed to adapt a PP from V9 to X3/X5 shouldn't be that hard to implement, I've seen information about it out there on the net. I can provide you with that PP as well as a sample program posted with debug turned on. If your friend can adapt this post to work with TNC 370 it would be great! I can help debugging the PP if we stay in touch.

PM me your email address, and I will send you the PP Monday or Tuesday.

    Regards,
    /Chris (Sweden)

The typical method, and preferred method, to gain assistance with post processors is to find a post processor that you already have that outputs G-code closest to what you desire. Then you upload that post processor and resulting G-code file and a corrected G-code file as attachments to your forum thread. Then others on the forum can help you modify your post processor to get the G-code output you desire.

Hi Chris, Have been on another project and back playing with this mill and controller. If you could possibly email me a copy of a post as a sample that would be great and would give me a starting point. My email is steve@thaionline.com.au

    Thanks

    Steve
