Thrn profiling on a inventor file

    Hello

Ive tryed to make a turn profile from a inventor file but the result dosent seem very good.. the diameter seems really random and circles are splittet up in alot smaller parts.

It really seems odd since if i use siluette its fine and has no problems what so ever... but im not able to get the inside profile from that sadly.

    Anyone got some tips?

Assuming that Inventor actually has the component drawn as a solid

    Try these ways

    -select new level & color
-create a line along the X0 axis
    -set construction plane to FRONT
-Xform ( project ) that line onto your solid ( or surfaces )
( if you had a tube, it would give the outlines as if you had sectioned the solid. You could hatch these chains to actually show the sections for a 2D drawing

    or
-slice the solid along X0 axis ( keep both ), but hide the front part
    -select new level & color
-create curves ( on all edges ), select the solid face ( the face you just created ), & accept

You may have to fix up areas where cross holes, slots, etc exist to make better toolpath ops, but it depends on the part & your preferences.

    Hello Superman

Thank you for the answer but i found out my problem..

It was because im used to making trimmed surfaced and edges in options when i open any solidworks or inventor file. that gave me the problem..

If i import it without it everything works like a charm.
