Without seeing what you are working with it is hard to tell the issues. are there solids or surfaces. What is not working what paths are you trying to use?
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to create a code to CNC alumminum uprights for my vehicle. I practiced on X5 for a couple of weeks so that I could use Mastercam. The problem I am having is that when I open the part in Master the rough surfaces and finish surface features don't work as its suppose to work. I also don't know how I would machine at the bottom and the side.

I'm really trying every rough surface/finish surface command possible. Those commands seem to be the only one that works when you open a solidworks part in Mastercam X5. The rough surface pocket works well with the part, it pockets all my holes perfectly. I can't do regular countors and when I do rough surface countor it starts messing up. I did rough surface parallel, I did plunge, but none seem to machine the part exactly how I want to. I'm pretty much a novice by the way. I have some shop experience but that was awhile ago.
You need to share that file allot of that part should be done in 2d pockets and contours by what i can see. It really comes down to not know what tools to use. this not a jab at you but you did state you are new. I see some surface flowline for the fillets and maybe some surface Parallel but the rest 2d..

I think I might be able to do this properly now, the problem was I needed to create a surface from the solid and delete the solid after. So I got through half the battle.
