Can't see objects in the working area in MasterCam x5

Hello. I am enrolled in a MasterCam x5 class. I just started to work in the program and i can't get anything to display in the working area. For example, when I click on the rectangle function and click in the working area, nothing displays. But then when i click on the Fit to Screen button, the rectangle that i just drew displays. I have Windows 7 so i don't know if this causing the issue. Can anyone please help me? My instructor does not know how to fix this problem.

i use win7 64 bit with x5, no issues like you speak of.......

Under System Configuration - Screen - Grid Settings, is Visible Grid enabled and what size? This may be a graphics card issue and not a MasterCAM issue.

sounds like a graphics issue. you may have to adjust your hardware acceleration. search the forum fro graphics issue, this has been covered many times

So you create the rectangle and nothing shows till you fit screen or repaint?
Are you running the HLE edition at home if so on what kind of computer what are the specks.
