theres a place in tool path parameters that allows you to choose arcs in x and y when setting up a tool path with surfaces
Hi All,
I am trying to generate some VERY compact code for an older machine. Mastercam will generate G2 and G3 code when making 2D paths from 2D geometry, but mostly generates multiple, short G1's when using surfaces to define toolpaths (even if eventual tool path is 2D (on one plane)). Is there a way to force arc movements?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply Beekeeper.
Where exactly is this arcs in x and y parameter option (for example in a Surface Rough Contour toolpath)? I have never seen such an option.
Thanks.
Mastercam X btw
I'm playing around with this feature for the first time and it seems to accomplish my goal. The higher the filter ratio, the more likely the code outputs are arcs, right?

Also knowing what version of MC would help as there has been changes over the versions.
