Mastercam x5 Posting Help (HAAS)

For some reason I cant get HAAS MILL to come up when i select Configuration on Mastercams x editor.

In Mastercam i have the machine set up to the folder C:\USERS\PUBLIC\DOCUMENTS\SHARED MCAMX5\CNC_MACHINES\ and then Generic Haas 4x Mill MM.MMD-5.

It will write the program fine. My problem is that i cant send it out via cable. because it wont select a machine type.

You do not need to select a machine you need to know the setting to set in the communications like 7, even, 1 , 36000 for the haas. do you know if the cable is correct to?

Yea i have those settings correct to correlate with the haas. But when i go to send, my machine field is empty...

again im sorry im new to Mastercam so trouble shooting is near impossible for me.

When i got to "Send" it says "No Machine Selected " and I cant select a machine from the drop down box. the drop down box is empty.

What are you using to transmit the file, the built in MC communications or Cimco Edit or what?

No the built in communications works fine, its jus that it sounds like you need to go into the configuration page and set-up the communications settings for the machine you need to send to. If you have machines that use different settings then each machine should have a different machine config that you would load and the post the file and send to the machine.

That is what you're doing right, posting and sending directly to your machine without saving the file and opening it in an editor like Cimco?

I save all my file and open them in Cimco, then use it to transmit to each machine as I have 3 that use the exact same machine config file but have different RS232 settings - and I have one that uses ethernet to communicate. Using an editor is just easier for me and then I also save my programs, as I run a production shop.

Well i didnt know cimco came with mastercam x5 so ill just use that... MCx5 however when you go to send. and the box pops up.. there is a drop down box for "machine" and i have no options in the drop down box. and so when i go to hit send. it says no machine selected please select a machine.

You should have machine comm settings in <machine_name>.xml files in shared mcx5-->common-->editors-->mastercam-->Machines. Check the location if it contains the files.
