Need Help!- Mastercam/Cimco communications settings for a Boss 9 control??

I am hoping someone may be ablwe to help me communicate from the Cimco editor to a Bridgeport Boss 9 control. I am using the Cimco editor outside of Mastercam to communicate, I have it working fine on a Fadal control...but this Boss 9 is killing me. ANY help would be appreciated!!!

I have no exerience on BOSS controls, but

The normal method of setting up any comms is to :-

- 1st check & double check cable wiring, then check again
the FADAL wiring running OK does not means it is good for all machines
- you may have to have a differently wired cable
- your manuals should point you to the correct pin layout

make sure the transfer settings are the same on the control & the PC
( baud, stop bits, handshake method etc )

next, send a short file from the control to the PC, as some controls can add their own characters to the file to aid transmission
( any gibberish you receive means your settings are close, data is getting thru but not being read correctly......)

then run the file from PC to the control

Once working, record your wirng and comm settings, you may need it again

transfer software usually has a layout
ie
- characters for file naming on the top line ( depends on the machine control, may not even be needed )
- the actual NC file
- % on the last line to terminate the transfer & allow the closing of the file in the control or the PC, some transfers just hang waiting for this code & make it appear as if it is not working
