Greetings all, I require someones help with alphacam. Im trying to edit an old program. I need to remove some of the operations. The problem is, I dont have an alphacam copy. Im trying to do it in reverse, input the cnc code into the drawing then removing what i dont want. Unfortunately its telling me I dont have feed or speed rates for any of these operations & I cant see a way of putting them in afterwards. The only thing it seems to look for is the tool diameters. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Sorry, but this Mastercam not Alphacam so I doubt you will find help here. have you checked for a Alphacam Forum on the Net?

| Thanks for getting back to me cadcam. I have but I havnt been very successful. I cant seem to find an alphacam section on here either, which is surprising, as Ive always believed it was one of the more widely used CAM programs. But the problem Im having seems to have more to do with the nc code I think. Im relatively new to this CNC business & Im not really familiar with G codes & such. Maybe you could point me in the right direction. Thanks again, celtic1967 |

Then you have 2 options - put it in as Geometry or Toolpath - as Toolpath, you get the feed and speed (depends of the NC file structure) but I think that you would better put it as Geometry, and then create new Toolpath.. But it is hard to advice when not knowing the file you are trying to convert - or your wanted output... Which version of AlphaCAM are you using? |

I understood it the way, that he did only have the nc-program, and unfortunately not the AlphaCAM drawing - but I maybe mistaken... |

| Thanks for all the replies. Yes camnerd, thats what I was trying to do but as you say I think the NC code was structured differently from what Im used to looking at. I solved the problem since by manually taking out lines from the code, which is not good for me as I havnt been doing this very long & like most folks these days I can only program off the screen. But I did solve the problem eventually. On a more general note, is there some reason there is not an alphacam section on this forum, or have I missed it? |

I don't think there is a AlphaCAM section in here - I think most people use the alphacam forum on Planit's website.. but it might be an idea to have one here - you could suggest that to the webmaster... :-) |
