Hi, I need to do some engraving on a 3-D part. I already have the part profiled and cut in Mcam 9 Now I need to project letters and numbers on to the surface and engrave it .005 deep. Anyone know how to do this? Please help if you can. Thanks, Brian |

| For one concept, go to the mill/samples/project folder and look at the "Project-Curves-Husky" file -what you are doing is making the tool-axis trace the wireframe geometry, but the tip is controlled by the selected surface/s another method -is to Create -> Curve -> "Project" the curves onto the surface then select these new curves to do a 3D_Contour ,Depth=zero incremental ( lead in/out= OFF, tool comp=OFF, XY-offset=zero Z-offset=depth past the geometry ) |

| If you projected the geometry onto the surfaces, then you "copied" if the originals are still in place, you could have "moved" them or, if you have NOT cleared colors, their patterns are still active as groups, the original is "group" and the new ones are "Result" Try Delete--> Group , then seletct "group", then OK |
