    climb/conventional

    im trying to machine some mounts but the finish on the waste is better then the finish on the final product any ideas on how to make it cut in climb and not conventional with mastercam x5

    Go into the geometry part of the operation
    - R-click in it to bring up the menu
    & reverse the chains, R-click again, & change sides, Accept, & regen the operation
    ( the green arrows will switch around to indicate the chaining direction [big arrow] and the tooling side to indicate a +ive offset [little arrow] )

    What you are doing is making the toolpath stay on the right side of the chains ie output G42 for the comps in the NC file, ( if you actually are using them )
