OEM Software

There are websites selling cam software, pretty much whatever you want. It claims that the software is OEM so does not come with manuals, extras or tech support. Also they come with a license. Has anyone used this service before? Any thoughts?

Why should he be different than anyone else, most of the guys from forgein countries on this mastercam forum are using pirated software. its pretty easy to figure out, not to mention alot of guys from the US as well.

Just look at the questions and to be honest look at the machines these guys are using with mastercam.
10-15k software package 1-5k cnc mill Makes alot of sence to me.
bought new machine never ran or programed a machine before and ran a cad cam software before.
hobbiest?
Just to name a few, just look in this forum and you will see a ton of people using prirated software.


Bottom line is if your getting mastercam or other highend software from a person or company that isnt licenced and or it claims to be oem your buying stolen software.

Cheers for the insights guys. Although some hard presumptions also. I sent numerous emails to them asking about buying just the main programme with no add-ons coz i dont need them. All i need to buy is mastercam 9. At least they could reply to my mail saying the fantasatic word from the english language..."NO". ill ring sales again and see if i can get through that way.




The copmpany i was contacting was mastercam, not the oem distributor.

Legally you cant buy version 9 mastercam quite selling that like 5? years ago
the only one you can legally BUY is version 5 then they may give you access to version x4


BTW no software comes with manuals anymore, its all in pdf files on the cd you get when you purchase it. ( which sucks cause I like books when learning something new)

I used the programme with a different company back in 2003. mill and wire. So i wish to use it again. i dont know how advanced the package has become, back then it suited the needs. The type of work hasnt changed. Ill look at other packages first before making any recomendations to the boss.

Sorry about the miss understanding.
But you will find you need to contact your local dealer as CNC software will send your info to the local dealer for you.
Also V9 is now no longer supported by CNC Software as it has Sunsetted sense the release of X5. but if you buy X5 you can ask for a v9 disk as your key will run it.
I do suggest you move to the latest allot more user friendly.
