| You have to realise what part of the tool is following the toolpath, you have the tooltip selected, which is ideal for planar ( 2D ) paths, but goes a little askew when it comes to 3D. You would have to modify the wireframe geometry to get anywhere near the correct paths needed. There are a couple of methods - create geometry that the ballnose centre is to travel along ( can be awkward to create this geometry for the less advanced users, but it is a method ) - use the "Surface Finish Project" strategy, you select the pathline of what you want the toolaxis to follow, and the "drive surfaces" & how much you want the tool to stay off the drive surfaces ( for you it would be -0.003" ). This calculates a path relative to the defined tool ( it doesn't even need to be a ballnose ) on the surfaces keeping the toolaxis on your selected "curves" |
