Reasonable Save times in Wire V9

    Hello,

We have been using MasterCam Wire Version9 for many years. I have upgraded hardware several times and it currently resides on a system that should have no problem at all running it.

My question is, what is a reasonable amount of time to elapse after you hit the "save" button? I know this is dependent on about a million different variables, but people are expecting saves in a few seconds, like an EXCEL spreadsheet.

It takes about 3 to 5 minutes to complete the save and I am just wondering if this is reasonable based on the extremely limited amount of information I am sharing and others experiences with the product.

    Thanks for any thoughts!

I use wire V9 with some really large files for wire. Say 100 4axis parts in a plate and it only takes seconds to save even over a network.

Sounds like you have some issues.

    Maybe try reinstalling the software.

If you really want a good solution get Esprit. Mastercam is crap for wire and there have been very little improvements in 10 years. get an Esprit demo. It will blow your mind.

You can select solids and land and taper is extracted from them.

Thanks for the response, just what I needed to know.
