Problem!! Mcam9 when rotating a part

Big Problem!!
In Mcam9, when rotating a part around a point.

I have a very simple part that I want to rotate around a point +90 deg.
When I do this, all the colors turn to the magenta color when it rotates and
stays that way, then when I try to change the colors it won't let me, but
all new geometry can be what ever color I want.

Anyone know how to fix this or what to do?

Please let me know,
TIA

MAIN MENU>SCREEN>CLEAR COLURS. the colurs are still there the magenta is to show that you moved the part

Hey, cool thanks, now I found 1 other problem

Hey, cool thanks, now I found 1 other problem.

I created letters - create>next menu>letters
and it works great.
But, after I create the letters; if I rotate them I can't create a tool path.
Any idea why rotating the letters has an effect?

Please let me know,
TIA,

ahh, I got it..Who knows what it was, but it's working fine now.

Thanks though.

Hey,
What do you know about surfaces?

I want to be able to have a closed 2-D shape and extrude it in Z from any given point within that shape; with a certain - lets say - surface tension to create a 3-D shape.
For example: draw a circle on a piece of paper - put your finger right in the center of it and bring your finger up off the paper 3" - with no surface tension you would have a cone but with a certain amount of tension you might have something that looks like a bowl turned upside down.

Do you understand what I'm looking to do?
How I explained that ok.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks,
Brian

Mabey I understand mabey not. V9 is not the best modeler. My segestion is to imagine the shape an create wire frame geo, the then lay serfaces within. To create a "bowl" go to the frount veiw create an arc and trim as needed. Then do a revolved surface using arc as a profile and rotate about a z axis line you need to create. I did a simple one for you to look at. I'm running x4 so this is a iges file. To open = MAIN MENU>FILE>NEXT MENU>CONVERTERS>IGES>READ FILE. I think thats right its been a while since I used v9.

yea, that's what I do in Cadkey.

I need to learn how to do this kind of thing in solid works or something like it.

Thanks

yea, that's always been the problem.
It takes more steps and it's always backwards compared to Cadkey.

Learning more each day though.

Master Cam is a cam software whereas Cadkey is a cad software. The cam side of MC is stronger than the Cad side, but you can still create any solid or surface in it, may take a few more steps than necessary but everything is done in MC and you don't have to worry about something getting lost in the translation from the Cad to the Cam.

Were you meaning to take a curved shape, such as a parabola, and rotate it into a bowl shape or a spike shape? Draw a quarter cross-section of your shape. Place a line at the axis of rotation. Use Create - Surface - Revolved to complete.
