lets see if we understand this... A licensed user of cad/cam software ( basic package $4-$5k, full version $15k & up? ) "gives" ( or loans ) his software to a "friend" to "play with" ?. Meanwhile, the "user" apparently does not need his software and trusts the "friend" will not lose the dongle. And on top of all that, the "user" loses the manual. Being the licensed user, I would think he could easily get a replacement manual even if it costs a few bucks.
redneck_ar - if you are legit then accept my apologies. If not, be careful when discussing unlicensed software on forums. Any one who visits the cad/cam forum on the Modern Machine Shop site knows they have problems with crackheads posting their wares. What they may not know is that the online editor forwards the messages to the FBI and the postings get removed from the site.
Im not sure if it is a demo or not but on the top, where the button options are, theres alot missing. All he gave me was a disc with the name on it & some thing else writen on it.
Right now all i know is how to rotate stuff & add the lighting effect to a drawing. Thats why i asked about a manual.
Cadman, I didnt know about that but thanks for that bit of info.
If it is a demo then you won't be able to save or post your files. You may have a student version which I believe has limited functionality. Do an internet search for "mastercam books" and you'll pull up lots of sites for technical book stores and they all stock books for Mastercam.Originally posted by redneck_AR

Cadman if it is a student version it will have a key still.
Sounds more like a version of draft, can you do tool paths at all.
Students versions by the way are a timed key that is a total of 9 months at the most is 1 yr but you must be inrolled in a class that is Mastercam to get this offer.
This is set by the school and our Edu Division of Mastercam.
There will be book s if you look on the net.
But not all of them are good at teaching what to do or how.
You can get the full working Demo from a local Dealer in your area and they will tell you or sell you the books needed.
As for the Demo it will not let you save the Geo file or posting will be limted to.
But is great for pratice and never times out.
