Hey guys, This is my 1st time CNCing anything, (it's for my senior design class at Purdue). I need to CNC 2 airfoils, they will be done on a 3 axis mill and I was planning on flipping the stock to machine the bottom surface. As of right now, I'm looking into surface finish>scallop to make the top surface. Material is 4"x31"x1" 7075 Al.... not sure on speeds, feeds, or tools. Right now I'm stuck on the bottom surface. Do I need to specify a flip in mastercam to machine the bottom? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks |

| You would need to change the "planes" depending on what version of mastercam. You might what to search on youtube, as there are some good tips on adjusting planes with dynamic plane, surface etc. Also a good resource for information is the emastercam.com forum. Drawing up what you have in mind might help others to respond. |
