Communicate with VF0

I have a 94 HAAS VF0. I can send programs to the VF0 just fine using MasterCam X4, but can't receive from the VF0 back to the computer. When I try to receive back to the PC, it says it's reading the file, then the transfer Complete box comes up, buth the file to file icon stil runs in the background. It produces an "empty" program. I don't know if maybe there was a file deleted when we upgraded from older versions of MasterCam X. I've tried several different configurations. We were able to send/receive with no problems prior to installing a new VF1 and subsequent upgrades of MasterCam. This is in a community college setting so I have very limited control over what I can install on the PC.

Thanks all

Buy me a Beer?

There should be a different send settings area and receive settings area

someone may have altered the receive values for that machine you selected

I've checke all I know to check on Mastercam, even the separate send/receive areas. I'm at a loss. We have a few programs that are now "stuck" in the machine and really would like to transfer them to a PC without handwriting the code. Unfortuneately, this machine is so old that it doesn't have a floppy or USB drive. LOL!!!! I've even tried using Hyperterminal that's built into windows, but still no luck. I'm not a computer person as such to find out all the settings on the PC. Anyway, thanks fo the help.

Try changing the "handshaking" settings.
If your cable to the pc is only 4 wires you might need a null modem adapter that feeds the handshaking wire back to the control.
If your cable has 9 wires you might get away with software handshaking.
If your cable has 15 wires or the full 25 you can use hardware handshaking.
This depends on if your using a DB9 connector or the old DB25.
