-End of Partnership- It really comes down to the large overlap of functionality between our Dynamic 2D and 3D toolpaths and Celeretive’s toolpaths. This overlap makes the relationship not only difficult to comprehend from the customer’s point of view but also difficult for our dealers to sell. David Conigliaro CNC Software Inc. Product Manager From this thread: CNC dropping partnership with Volumill? - eMastercam.com So can someone tell me why HSM won't be next? Does it not fit the description above? HSM Performance Pack for Mastercam So going forward Mastercam is going to copy add ons and then trash them? Maybe someone who knows more about this could explain why anyone would consider this add on at this point? Here is a nice little test for your Mastercam dealer. Ask if the HSM add on will be supported in X6... ![]() If history repeats it's self that will be in about 420 days. Some time in summer of 2012. Nx and Esprit seem to have picked up Volumill. That's good news anyway. John |

| John, Have you contacted CNC Software directly yet ? Are you still on mainenance ? CNC Software must be made aware how their product is sold & serviced in all countries, they will have a say as to how their software is managed Your dealer is not the top rung, you still are able to go to the next level ( CNC ), if necessary. I don't think you can sideways to another dealer |

I did call CNC Software. I was talking to Steve Bertrand the sales manager. He explained that dealers are set up like a basic retail agreement. CNC software has no control over what prices are charged outside the US. If a dealer wants to get a good customer base and then double its prices and maintenance fees then there is nothing CNC software can do. Also was told there is nothing I can do to switch dealers as there is a convenient monopoly in my country. (Canada – InHouse Solutions) He seemed surprised that I was upset about a 40% price increase because I was given a little price break when we bought the software. Discussed being banned from the EMastercam forum and basically hit a wall there as well. Although he seemed surprised that I was told to –get a brain- and -quit crying you crybaby- by the people who run the EMastercam forum he regrets to inform me that this forum is not an official Mastercam forum. It is run by my dealer. Nothing he can do for me there. Basically explained there was nothing he could do unless I had a bug to report…. It’s a big investment to make in the cost of the software and then full implementation in the workplace. Anybody reading this should take heed. I feel I was blown off with the same attitude the dealer has from CNC software. Steve was to call me back but I am still waiting. It’s a difficult situation at this point because I am not sure how I want this to end myself. I am pretty sure I am going to move on. Not sure I would continue with Mastercam if it was free at this point. A real nightmare company to deal with. John Me Mastercam |
