Hi, I'm not sure is this the right place to ask about linking problem, I'm lost! Just installed Mastercam5 lathe for my FEMCO Fanuc OT CNC lathe machine and tried to send NC file from PC to machine for the last 6 hours and get s totally nothing. setup: computer OS - windows 7 (is windows 7 a problem? tried XP but not successful as well) using parallel port from motherboard - 25pins female existing machine RS232 - 25 pins female connection cable - 25 pins male on both ends. Procedure: 1)setting are (baud rate-4800,2 stop bits, 7 data length, software flow control, even parity) 2)machine setting (switch to edit - press I/O - press read or press input - LSK blinking) 3)press send with CIMCOedit Result: LSK still blinking without any alarm I'm suspecting the cable is not correctly done, but previously when i used demo mastercam4 version it is still functioning???!!! my connection cable i'm connecting 2,3,4,5,7 and jumper 6,8,20 where has it gone wrong? hopefully not machine hardware issue and also hope that my explanation is comprehensible. please please please advice. thank you |

| You are in the wrong area to ask this question...but my guess is the cable usually PC........M/C 2 ----> 3 3 ----> 2 the other pins may be OK try searching in the fanuc forum for cable pin settings It is better to start comms troubleshooting by sending from M/C to PC first |

| Usually the parallel port is for a printer. Even though they use the same shape connector, the signal wires are not connected the same way. RS232 is a serial connection.
