Hello! Been messing with Surface milling with undercutting, Is it possible? Imagine something like a bell, and surface mill it in the inside with the small opening upwards. I tried to program this with a slot mill, Just for fun. Someone who could give a push to right directions with settings or even a small program with surface undercutting action! |

| Go to your mill samples folder... in the "what's new" folder and look at the "PORT 5X.MCX" it is programmed for a 5 axis machine, Basically most toolpaths will not cross over a previous path, so when doing a everse tapered cone , you get a straight bore. BUT Remember this is done with gouge detection ON, you have to turn it OFF to get a path to expand outside a previous path, CAUTION--- descends and retracts can go thru the part, when happy with the actual surfacing parameters, look carefully at transition moves, you may have to use "Entry/Exit" or "Direction" for plunge and retract moves. |
