Hi, Whenever I do a drill toolpath followed by a contour, the cutter doesn't lift up before moving to the startpoint of the contour toolpath. As a result, the cutter tries to move from the bottom of the drilled hole straight over to the startpoint of the next cut, and my material has a massive scar left in it. What is going wrong? I think I have all the linking parameters set correctly. |

| I'd like to see the program that is posted...and if you can, take a couple of screenshots of your toolpath "linking parameters" (for the drillpath and the contour) Give us a little something to go on.

| What are your Clearance plane" settings ? for both ops This is where the tool should return to before and after that op Does your control use "Drill cycles" ie G81, G73 etc ? these make the tool have a start point to begin hole making, do the hole, and remove itself from the hole ( before performing the next XY move ), it incorporates an initial level(Clearance), and a retract plane (R). |
