Problem- canned cycles

I have mastercam x. For some reason when in lathe mastercam does't put out the correct canned cycle info. when trying to do a peck drill cycle Mastercam puts the code as customizible drill cycle instead of g83 q and r.
any ideas on how to fix the problem would be great.

It is more than likely just your post. You should get with your reseller and have them customize it for your preferences. Give them an example of all of the basics you want in a program including drill cycles, tap cycles, tool calls, etc, and they can give you a post to cover all your desires.

If you just purchased this, they may give you a freebie if it is a simple, and common post. Otherwise, it may cost a bit.

Beyond that, many of us have done our own custom posts, but BEWARE of that if you are new to this stuff. You can screw up a lot when you are doing that yourself.

I agree its just my post. But it still needs to be fixed. And i can write the line by hand. Its just a pain.

But that is what I am saying to do. Your reseller can fix that stuff so all you do is post it, send it to the machine, and run it. I never have to tweak a program by hand. My post takes care of all of the canned cycles that are specific to my machine. My reseller helped get my post to take care of all of that stuff, and so should yours.
