Hello, I'm using Mastercam X5 and I'm trying to make some pockets on a tilted axis. All other operations seem to work fine however when I use the pocket tool path on a tilt the program will not post with the correct A/C axis correlation. Specifically, the program is setup to tilt A-13 and C0. It will simulate the operation just fine, but when the program posts it shows up as A0 C77 and treats the pocket as a 3 dimensional surface with X/Y/Z moving simultaniously. If I change the operation to a contour or a high speed pocketing operation it outputs like it should. But I can't find a setting or anything anywhere that would make it behave this way. Has anyone run into this before and found a workaround? As a side, another part that I had the same issue with I got around by using the high speed pocketing toolpaths. However, it seemed to only process one pocket at a time, even if I had multiple chains selected. Ended up turning 2 operations into 8 to complete the part. Pretty time consuming. Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Any info would be helpful Greg |

| you are setting tool planes for this correct as this is a 3+2 programming. do you have a file you can share as I will test it here with X5 MU1?

| Thanks, I figured it out. It was the rotary axis positioning. Somehow it's been set to come up as default under pocketing even though I never switched it on for the 3+2 stuff. Just have to watch out for it. I'm still looking for an answer as to why I can only select one chain at a time for 2d high speed paths. Thanks Greg |
