Need Help! Hey, I'm new to the CNCZONE community and I need answers..(MasterCam post processors) - CNCzone.com-The Largest Machinist Community on the net!

The company that I work for purchased a new Samsung CNC lathe (SL 65 fanuc controlled), and we also have MasterCam X4 which contains fanuc post processors, I guess that's stardand. Do we need to purchase a post processor in order for MasterCam to properly communicate with this particular machine?

no usually you can use the generic fanuc post but I am not familiar with that control....could be that you need to tweak the post but most likely not. Is it fanuc based?

I'm new to mastercam so I haven't tried running programs yet, I just wanted to know before I did. And yes the Samsung is Fanuc based.. Most of our machine are fanuc controlled.. As for us having any broken down fadal I would have to check. Thanks..
